Transcript for CNN HotWired spot
CNN Headline News HotWired
Erica Hill: I’m Erica Hill
If you’re one of the many who already has a digital camera, you may be thinking “What’s next?”
Well once again you are in the right spot, because we can tell you exactly what’s next.
Brian Cooley is editor-at-large for CNN and joins us today with a few ideas, and, ah, some new eyewear?
Brian: Yeah, a few eye-deas. Ha!
I’ve got 3D glasses on here, and you’re wondering, “What’s he doing?”
I’m looking at 3-D prints that come off your inkjet or photo printer.
They’re made with a gadget called the Photo3-D Kit by Mission3-D.
It’s a combination of an attachment that goes on your digital camera. You take two shots for every picture, one for each eye. And then you run it through their special software, and it creates a print like this. Which has got that 3-D look, it looks kind of blurry until you put the 3-D glasses on, then it pops right out and grabs you.
It’s not an expensive kit, you know, around $100.
And even though 3-D photography is still basically a fun gimmick, there’s no purpose to it, it's kind of fun.
Erica: Could be good for parties, as you told us earlier.
Brian: Yeah, if you hand a photo like this around, people are going to love it!
Eric: As long as you have enough glasses to go around. You might have to share those Brian.
Brian: Yes, you would!
[Note: The kit includes 8 pair of different types of 3D glasses to enable sharing]
Buy the Windows version for just $129
Buy the Macintosh version for $129
It's as easy as 1, 2, 3-D!

Our mission is to ensure you enjoy 3-D photography. We guarantee you'll be able to take, see and share your own 3-D photographs using Photo3-D and with your digital camera and computer. If not, simply return the entire product, with all the components in their original packaging.

Small enough to keep in your camera bag! The Photo3-D 303 attachment is about the size of a typical cell phone.

Just like any digital photo, you can save and email your 3-D photos, and print them from your desktop or via your favorite photo service. Like a 3-D movie, you just wear the glasses to see the 3-D effects.
